It's been a good week hobby wise. So what's been going on in my little hobby world.
Well firstly I would like to congratulate West wind Productions in hitting and exceeding there targets for there kickstarter which will see a huge influx of models, rules and interest in the game which is a good thing as it is one of my favourite games at the moment. Expect to see in a few months posts about this as I think there will be about 40+ steampunk/horror models hitting my desk. Its going to be great and it has been a great kickstarter to break my kickstarter cherry on.
Ok so on to whats been painted. Well as some of you may know I have been taking part in a paint along through a forum for Tor Gaming's excellent Relics system. I have now finished it and feel really proud of what I have done, It has taken just over 3 months to do. The painting wasn't hard and really enjoyable, so a new tip is break down projects into achievable chunks and work on the chunks rather than think about the overall army/project.
So where do the yanks (sorry if I have any American readers) come into it all well a friend and fellow gamer is working on his own rules system for post-war conflicts. I have decided to help in development and paint some models for it also as it is a time period I have had little contact with. Over the past few months I have been collecting a nice stockpile of plastic kits, diecast tank, helis, metal figures and resin oddities.
All the vehicles are going to be in the NATO tri colour scheme such as this
With finished projects and another big one on the horizon, I have decided to take a break from projects and painting for deadliness and so some painting for paintings sake. So at the weekend was Hinkley Model Show, which wasn't very well attended but there was one gem of a trader there
MDP which do a variety of high end, resin kits, display bases and all manor of great hobby goods. I picked up a little steam punk bust.
And mine so far after a few hours of painting.
Still a great deal of work to do on him, but it should be good in the end.
Well thanks for reading
And as always
Happy Painting
